At Psychological Fitness Associates, we approach mental health and personality from a holistic perspective. We consider multiple variables when working with clients including mental health, medical history, nutrition, exercise and environment. The therapeutic techniques that we use vary from client to client because what works for one person may not work for another. Moreover, we often use more than one therapeutic method depending on our clients' needs.
Exercise has been shown to increase mood, self-image and self-confidence in individuals diagnosed with mental health issues. In addition to traditional mental health counseling, we incorporate exercise prescription into our treatment plans (as needed) and work directly with our clients to implement and manage their exercise regimens.
We strongly believe that clients are the true experts in their lives and that counseling, at a basic level, is a solution focused partnership. As such, we strive to create an unconditional, non-judgmental environment in which individuals can freely and honestly explore and resolve conflicts and problems.
